It's no sweat to participate. Just sign up to allow Essex Powerlines to cycle down your air conditioning temporarily during peak demand times this summer. There's no cost to you and we'll even equip you with a brand new programmable thermostat! You likely won't notice a change in your home, plus you'll get $25 just for signing up!

What you should know:

• When you register we'll install a device that allows us to send a wireless signal to cycle down your air conditioner. We'll never turn off your A/C - only cycle it...the temperature will only ever raise a few degrees.
• We'll never cycle down your A/C on the weekend or on a Holiday. If we do have to cycle down your A/C it will be on a weekday typically between 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
• The maximum amount of time the A/C can be cycled down is 4 hours/day
• To be eligible you must be a homeowner of a single-family home with a central cooling system. We'll do all the work at no expense to you. You'll even receive $25 from the Ontario Power Authority just for signing up.
